September

4th- Beginning of the Autumn term

22nd – Autumn equinox; please dress your child in brown, red, orange or yellow as we celebrate the first day of Autumn!

25th-29th – Harvest celebrations; please join us in donating tinned/ dried food over the week for the children to donate to our local food bank!

29th- scarecrow competition- please create a scarecrow with your little ones for our scarecrow competition. CLOSING DATE 29TH SEPTEMBER

29th- Lilliput scarecrow ball- please dress your child up as a scarecrow for our day packed with fun! Which will in tale the children baking their own bread to eat with their scarecrow lunch!

October

1st-31st- Black history month- a month focusing on African and Caribbean Heritage- More details will follow.

1st-31st – The Big Draw- This month we will be also doing lots of drawings with the children to create our very own gallery of the children’s artwork. This year’s theme is ‘drawing with senses’.

30th-3rdnovember- Half term for funded children only

30th-3rdnovember- Magical Mystery week; Please send your children into nursery wearing old clothes as we will be having lots of magical fun making potions and getting very messy.

31st- pumpkin Picnic- Please dress your child as a pumpkin for a lovely pumpkin themed day of fun!

November

6th- Build a Bonfire- The children will be enjoying a hot potato and a marshmallow treat as they learn about bonfire night.

6th-10th- Diwali celebrations week!- the children will be learning about the story of Rama and Sita and how this festival is celebrated around the world.

9th - We would like to invite parents and carers to a special Diwali themed ‘Stay and Play’ from 10-11 and for children to dress in shiny or bright clothing on this day too!

10th- world science day- the children will be taking part in lots of fun experiments in line with the current themes.

17th- children in need- Details to follow.

30th- St Andrews day- Please dress your children in blue and white as we celebrate the Patron Saint of Scottland.

December

Christmas performance- date to be confirmed and details to follow

11th- - We would like to invite parents and carers to a special Christmas themed ‘Stay and Play’ from 10-11.

13th Christmas dinner for staff and children

19th- Christmas party day and a visit from Santa! – dress your children in their best party clothes!

22nd End of term for all children.

(Nursery will close on the Friday 22nd December and will re open for the new term Monday January 8th 2024)
